SAILING CAMP 2023
There have been many changes since last year concerning policies and regulations. Thankfully, fresh air, outdoors, sunshine and summer breeze remain beneficial to the CDC. We are ready and excited for another summer of sailing!
We will still be conducting camps in groups. Other precautions that remain unchanged this summer are as follows:
- PHLAS Sailing will teach and practice the CDC guidelines for Respiratory Hygiene and Cough Etiquette at sailing camp. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/professionals/infectioncontrol/resphygiene.htm
- Regular cleaning and disinfecting of equipment.
- Regular dinghy camp will have three students maximum per boat. Mini Mariners will be sailing in groups of five.
- We will not allow sharing of lunches or snacks. Students should bring their own lunches. We will not be having our Friday afternoon pot-luck BBQ’s. Students should bring their own lunch on Fridays as other days of the week.
- Health screening. We will be checking students each day upon arrival to camp to make sure they are not showing any symptoms.
- If students become symptomatic at PHLAS Sailing, they will be kept separate from the group, and parents notified to come and pick up the student.
- MASKS: Masks are optional. Students will have the option to cover or not cover their faces when gathered in their small group. Please communicate your preference with your child and be respectful of the choices of those around you as each family is doing what they feel is best.
We ask that parents help us in the following ways:
- If your child is not feeling well or shows symptoms, please keep them at home.
- Parents will not be allowed on the beach or with the group during PHLAS Sailing hours unless they have a Beach Pass from Herrington.
- Drop off will be on the beach at Herrington Harbour South (beach entrance is by the Herrington Harbour Inn sign). Students should sign in at the table by our Camp tents.
